How to connect Garmin Boating App | Help

Garmin Boating App support NMEA0183 in TCP and UDP mode with the following data*:

• DBT (Depth below transducer)
• DPT (Depth)
• GGA (GNSS Position)
• GLL (GNSS Position)
• RMC (Minimum GPS sentence includes Position/Time/COG/SOG)
• VTG (COG and SOG)
• ZDA (Time and Date)
• VDM (AIS - Received Data from other vessels)
• VDO (AIS - Your own vessels information)

In order to add a connection you need to open Menu and go to Paired Devices and click the "+" Button. Please see following screenshots.

Step 1 - Paired devices

Step 3 - Click on add device

Step 4 - Add settings for connections, example shows NMEA0183 with TCP mode within BoatHub Wi-Fi

Step 5 - Succesfully paired with your device

*supported NMEA0183 sentences verified in available App version in December 2025
